Saranno assegnati il prossimo 11 settembre gli MTV Video Music Awards: ecco tutte le nomination

Saranno assegnati il prossimo 11 settembre (in Italia saranno le 2 del mattino del giorno successivo) gli MTV Video Music Awards 2024. La cerimonia di premiazione si terrà presso la UBS Arena di Elmont, New York. e sarà presentata dalla rapper Megan Thee Stallion, per la prima volta impegnata in questo ruolo. Saranno premiati i protagonisti dei migliori videoclip musicali diffusi fra il 22 giugno 2023 e il 20 giugno 2024. Lo show era stato originariamente programmato per il 10 settembre, ma è stato rischedulato al giorno seguente per evitare la sovrapposizione con il dibattito organizzato con Donald Trump e Kamala Harris. in vista delle prossime elezioni presidenziali USA.
Taylor Swift è l'artista con il maggior numero di nomination, ben dieci, otto delle quali per "Fortnight", il singolo realizzato con la partecipazione di Post Malone, il quale ne ha invece complessivamente ricevute nove. Sei nomination per Eminem, Sabrina Carpenter ed Ariana Grande, cinque per SZA e Megan Thee Stallion, quattro per Olivia Rodrigo, Lisa e Teddy Swims. Taylor Swift ha pertanto l'opportunità di diventare l'artista più premiata di sempre agli MTV Video Music Awards: in tutte le edizioni fin qui susseguitesi, l'artista più premiata è stata Beyoncè (30 volte), seguita per l'appunto dalla Swift (26), Madonna (20), Lady Gaga (18).
L'unico Premio già assegnato nel 2024 è per Katy Perry, che riceverà il Video Vanguard Award.
