Non paga di aver già confezionato una classifica dei 100 migliori album del decennio 20 usciti finora, la rivista Pitchfork ha anche pubblicato un’ulteriore lista con quelle che considera le 100 canzoni migliori degli anni 20 uscite sino ad oggi. “A prima vista, c'è qualcosa di un po' superficiale nel concetto di ‘Migliori degli anni 2020 finora’ – scrive nell’introduzione il direttore Mano Sundaresan - Cinque anni? Perché non aspettare l'intero decennio? Poi però mi sono reso conto che non solo è divertente fare liste un po' arbitrarie, ma, accidenti, quante cose sono successe in questi cinque anni! Quei dischi pubblicati durante il lockdown sembrano provenire da un'epoca completamente diversa, eppure sono inscindibili dalla musica di oggi. Dal rap che è diventato più sfacciato e rumoroso, alle scene online sbocciate durante la quarantena, fino a intere sottoculture musicali lanciate nello spazio e sezionate da TikTok - la musica, così come la conosciamo, si è trasformata radicalmente in questa mezza decade. Ascoltare centinaia di canzoni e compilare queste liste con il team di Pitchfork è stato un mix di risate, stupore e dibattiti difficili”.
Il risultato finale a noi lascia più di un dubbio, ma tant'è... il mondo è bello perché è vario, anche quello della musica.
