Stavolta Uncut è andato davvero indietro nel tempo. Nel suo nuovo numero speciale, il magazine ha deciso infatti di stilare una classifica dei 500 migliori album degli anni 50. Si tratta naturalmente di un decennio cruciale per tutte le successive evoluzioni musicali degli anni a venire. Gli anni Cinquanta sono stati infatti il periodo del rock'n'roll, ma anche del jazz e dello swing, della musica country e del blues. Contestualmente, sempre in questo momento storico nasce il cosiddetto pop nonché il crossover inteso come commistione di più generi, di cui Elvis Presley era maestro indiscusso.
