Exclusive stream: Ned Roberts – “Outside My Mind” [Listen]

We are honored to present Ned Roberts's new record, "Outside My Mind". We already knew Ned from his namesake outstanding debut, which brought him close to the classical songwriting tradition of Leonard Cohen, Nick Drake and Bob Dylan. "Outside My Mind" is a collection of songs written over the course of three-four years, dealing with love in a sometimes arousing, sometimes desperate way. Ned instills a rustic, first-take feel to his new songs, due to a very intense recording session with Luther Russell (Sarabeth Tucek, Richmond Fontaine, Noah And The Whale) in Los Angeles: 

Recording to tape kept things tight explains Ned, we didn’t have endless reels, so couldn’t  indulge in take after take. I enjoyed these practical limitations as they really focused the creative process, and kept everything fresh.
