I King Crimson annunciano le ristampe di “In The Wake Of Poseidon” e “Lizard”, con mix di Steven Wilson

“In The Wake Of Poseidon” e “Lizard”, i due album dei King Crimson pubblicati nel 1970, saranno ristampati in box di due dischi. “Lizard” uscirà anche su vinile heavyweight.

I King Crimson hanno annunciato nuove ristampe di “In The Wake Of Poseidon” e “Lizard” in formato cd, e con un’edizione in vinile da 200 grammi per “Lizard”. Tutte le ristampe saranno pubblicate il 24 ottobre sull’etichetta DGM/Panegyric.

Pubblicati originariamente nel 1970, “In The Wake Of Poseidon” (secondo album della band) e “Lizard” (il terzo) verranno ristampati in versione doppio disco, con cd e Blu-ray. Le nuove edizioni conterranno mix completamente inediti a cura di Steven Wilson in Dolby Atmos, 5.1 DTS-HD MA, surround e Hi-Res Stereo, oltre a nuovi “Elemental Mixes” in Hi-Res Stereo di quattro brani, realizzati da David Singleton.

Il brano “The Devil’s Triangle” non sarà incluso nei nuovi mix di “In The Wake Of Poseidon”, ma sarà presente in una versione alternativa originariamente assemblata per il cofanetto ormai fuori catalogo “Sailors’ Tales”. Il cd includerà anche due versioni aggiuntive di “Cadence And Cascade”.

“Lizard” viene presentato nella sua forma più completa di sempre, con le intere sessioni di registrazione del settembre 1970 in formato 24/48. Entrambe le ristampe saranno confezionate in un packaging stile mini-vinile, con booklet contenente fotografie e note a cura del biografo ufficiale dei King Crimson e giornalista di Prog, Sid Smith.

“Per me ‘Lizard’ è sempre stato un album troppo grande per essere contenuto in uno stereo. Ho sempre pensato che, presentato nel modo giusto, si potrebbe sostenere che sia il disco rock più sperimentale mai realizzato. È straordinario ciò che succede in quell’album. In termini di fusione tra free-jazz e progressive rock, per me non esiste nulla di paragonabile”, ha dichiarato Robert Fripp.

La ristampa in vinile di “Lizard” sarà su vinile Super-Heavyweight da 200 grammi, prodotto da Vinyl Factory di Londra e inciso da Jason Mitchell presso Loud Mastering. Conterrà un nuovo “Elemental Mix 2025” firmato da David Singleton.
