Grammy 2014: trionfano i Daft Punk

Si è conclusa ieri nella tarda notte – erano le cinque e mezza circa in Italia – la 56ma edizione dei Grammy Awards, tenutasi allo Staples Center di Los Angeles. Come al solito, i piatti principali del menù sono stati i duetti, su tutti Paul McCartney con Ringo Starr e Daft Punk con Pharrell, Nile Rodgers e Stevie Wonder; ma anche Beyoncé con Jay-Z, Nine Inch Nails con Dave Grohl, Queens Of The Stone Age e Lindsey Buckingham.

Uno spettacolo che ha lasciato entusiasti gli spettatori e che ha regalato anche momenti impegnati come il duetto tra Macklemore & Ryan Lewis e Madonna, che hanno cantato il loro inno di uguaglianza “Same Love”, mentre 34 coppie, tra cui anche coppie gay, si sono unite in matrimonio sul palco dello Staples Center.

A trionfare sono stati i Daft Punk, che hanno portato a casa ben quattro grammofoni: Album of the Year e Best Electronica/Dance album con “Random Access Memories“, Record of the Year e Best Pop Duo/Group Performance con il singolo “Get Lucky”. In primo piano anche Lorde, che ha vinto nella categoria Best Pop Solo Performance e che con i suoi 17 anni è la più giovane vincitrice del premio Song of the Year. Il Best Alternative Album è andato invece ai Vampire Weekend con “Modern Vampires Of The City“, a sancire, come se non bastasse, una grande annata per la band americana.

Ma c’è stato spazio anche per le vecchie glorie: i Led Zeppelin hanno trionfato nella categoria Best Rock Album con il loro “Celebration Day”. Invece i Black Sabbath si sono aggiudicati il premio come Best Metal Performance con la canzone “God Is Dead?”.
