Dopo il ritorno di Neil Young su Spotify e l'ondata di entusiasmo che ne è scaturita, Steven Hyden, giornalista e critico musicale di New York Times Magazine, Washington Post, Rolling Stone e Billboard, ha pensato bene di pubblicare la sua Top 100 delle canzoni del Loner canadese sul sito di intrattenimento e cultura pop UPROXX. "In molti casi – ha spiegato Hyden - ho cercato di individuare una versione specifica, se differiva da quella associata a un vero e proprio disco in studio. Il risultato è un elenco vasto, ampio e indisciplinato come l'uomo stesso".
