I 200 migliori album heavy rock di sempre nella nuova classifica di Uncut

“Nella casa del rock ci sono molte stanze. Quelle del rock soft e del progressive, ma anche quelle del rock heavy. E’ proprio quest’ultimo che celebriamo nell’ultimo numero della nostra rivista”. Così il magazine Uncut introduce la sua nuova classifica-monstre, quella dei “200 Greatest Heavy Rock Albums…Ranked!”.

“In vista della loro esibizione finale quest’estate – sottolinea ancora Uncut – abbiamo lasciato che i Black Sabbath, protagonisti della nostra copertina, ci facessero da guida per le 200 eccellenti opere heavy contenute in questa selezione”. Ma – prosegue il magazine – questo non riguarda solo i Sabbath – né tantomeno solo i dischi fondamentali degli altri gruppi pionieri dell’hard rock come Deep Purple e Led Zeppelin. Abbiamo trovato spazio anche per gruppi dal suono più veloce (come i Metallica) o meno blues (come gli Iron Maiden), senza dimenticare quelli con venature psichedeliche (come, ad esempio, i Groundhogs o il primo album degli Scorpions)”. Escluso, invece, il grunge, anche se – sottolinea ancora Uncut – “si potrebbe sostenere che il primo album dei Soundgarden possa meritare un posto nella lista” e “non c’è neanche lo stoner/doom, il che potrebbe anch’esso dar vita a discussioni animate, visto che i Sabbath sono i leader spirituali di tutto quel filone”.
