La 55ma edizione dei Grammy Awards

Domenica 10 febbraio 2013, allo Staples Center di Los Angeles, è avvenuta la 55ma cerimonia di consegna dei Grammy Awards, i riconoscimenti assegnati dalla National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences of the United States alle personalità che si sono distinte nell’industria discografica nell’anno passato – erano eleggibili per i premi, infatti, tutti i dischi usciti entro il 30 settembre del 2012–.

Presentati per la seconda volta da LL Cool J, negli highlights di questa edizione spiccano sicuramente i Black Keys, che hanno portato a casa tre grammofoni dorati (quattro per Dan Auerbach, che oltre a quelli con la sua band ha vinto anche come Best Producer); stessa cifra per Jay-Z, Skrillex, Kanye West e Gotye, che si è aggiudicato Record of the Year e Best Pop Duo con il singolo “Somebody That I Used to Know”, e Best Alternative Album. E se i Fun. si sono i Best New Artist che raccolgono l’eredità di Bon Iver e gli autori della Canzone dell’anno, i veri trionfatori della serata sono stati i Mumford and Sons, il cui “Babel” è stato eletto Album of the Year.

Tra le esibizioni live che si sono succedute durante la premiazione, oltre ai vincitori dei premi principali, hanno calcato il palco dello Staple Center anche Bruno Mars, Rihanna, Sting, Damian Marley, Ziggy Marley, insieme per un tributo a Bob Marley

Jay-Z, insieme Justin Timberlake che ha presentato il suo ultimo singolo “Suit and Tie” e la nuova “Pusher Love Girl”

The Lumineers & Jack White

Zac Brown, Brittany Howard degli Alabama Shakes, Elton John, Mumford & Sons, Mavis Staples e T Bone Burnett in un tributo a Levon Helm
