Neil Young annuncia un tour estivo in Europa e Nord America insieme ai Chrome Hearts. In arrivo anche un album-tributo al Loner

Neil Young ha annunciato un ampio tour estivo nel 2025 con la sua nuova band, i Chrome Hearts. Il "Love Earth World Tour", che inizierà a giugno e proseguirà fino a settembre, prevede date sia in Europa che in Nord America (ma, al momento, non ancora in Italia).
I Chrome Hearts vedono Young affiancato da Spooner Oldham (organo Farfisa), Micah Nelson (chitarra e voce), Corey McCormick (basso e voce) e Anthony LoGerfo (batteria). La band eseguirà brani tratti da un album inedito, ancora da annunciare, che Young e i Chrome Hearts hanno recentemente completato con i produttori Lou Adler e John Hanlon.
La prevendita dei biglietti per i membri dei Neil Young Archives inizierà martedì 25 febbraio, seguita da una prevendita Live Nation giovedì 27 febbraio alle 10 ora locale su Ticketmaster (utilizzando il codice DUET). La vendita generale partirà poi venerdì 28 febbraio alle 10:00 ora locale
Nel tentativo di proteggere i prezzi originali stabiliti dall’artista, Young limiterà la rivendita dei biglietti alla piattaforma Face Value Exchange di Ticketmaster, dove i fan potranno trasferire i biglietti solo al prezzo originale pagato.

Intanto, un album-tributo a Neil Young uscirà il prossimo 25 aprile. Con un cast all-star: Fiona Apple, Eddie Vedder, Courtney Barnett, Sharon Van Etten, Lumineers, Stephen Marley, Mumford & Sons e Doobie Brothers e altri artisti rileggono le canzoni del Loner canadese in "Heart Of Gold: The Songs Of Neil Young".
Il disco, contenente 14 cover, viene edito come prima uscita di un progetto in due volumi, i cui proventi andranno a beneficio della Bridge School.
Come anticipazione, sono stati pubblicati i primi due singoli dell'album: le cover di "Lotta love" eseguita da Courtney Barnett e quella di "Southern Man" di Chris Pierce. Ascoltale entrambe in streaming qui sotto.





"'Lotta Love' è una delle mie canzoni preferite di Neil e il testo sembra particolarmente pertinente in questo momento storico. È un vero onore far parte di questo tributo che aiuta a raccogliere fondi per The Bridge School", ha commentato Courtney Barnett. Pierce ha invece raccontato di essere onorato di far parte del progetto, rivelando di aver scelto di fare una cover della canzone "Southern Man" dopo che gli è venuta in sogno.
