“Basta un solo album classico perché un artista entri nel pantheon dei grandi. Due classici consecutivi, e puoi considerarti fortunato. Tre di fila, e sei nato sotto una buona stella. Ma quando si comincia a parlare delle migliori serie di quattro album consecutivi del rock, si entra nel regno della leggenda”. Con questa introduzione, la rivista online Ultimate Classic Rock ha presentato la sua ultima (e curiosa) classifica: le miglior “quadriplette” della storia del rock. Insomma, quali sono stati gli artisti in grado di partorire le migliori serie di quattro album consecutivi? “Realizzare quattro album consecutivi di tale livello può essere un’impresa estenuante, e alcuni degli artisti presenti in questa lista sono implosi dopo quelle serie leggendarie – prosegue UCR – Altri hanno continuato a pubblicare musica di qualità — anche molto buona — ma non più eccezionale. E solo pochi, davvero pochi, sono riusciti ad allungare la serie vincente da quattro a cinque album”.
