Capolavori lunghi cinquant’anni. La rivista americana Rolling Stone ha riavvolto il nastro del tempo di mezzo secolo. Andando a ripescare quelli che ritiene i migliori album usciti nel 1975. Settantacinque, per la precisione, proprio come l’anno. “L’America era un posto tremendamente strano nel 1975 – ricorda il magazine nell’introduzione – ma la cosa più strana di tutte era la musica. L’intera cultura stava cambiando rapidamente. Fu l’anno in cui ‘Lo squalo’ inventò il blockbuster hollywoodiano. ‘Saturday Night Live’ rivoluzionò la comicità televisiva. Muhammad Ali sconfisse Joe Frazier nel leggendario ‘Thrilla in Manila’. E finì la guerra del Vietnam”. Al cinema – aggiunge Rolling Stone – potevi andare a vedere ‘Quel pomeriggio di un giorno da cani’, ‘Nashville’ o ‘The Rocky Horror Picture Show’. E tutti sulla pista da ballo facevano ‘The Hustle’. Ma fu un anno di svolte anche nel rock. “Arrivarono classici senza tempo da leggende come Bruce Springsteen, Pink Floyd, Joni Mitchell, Led Zeppelin, Bob Dylan e Neil Young – ricorda ancora la rivista statunitense – Funk, disco, punk, reggae e metal stavano emergendo…”.
