Taylor Swift, Boygenius, SZA e Victoria Monet fra i trionfatori dell’edizione 2024 dei Grammy Awards: tutti i premi e le nomination

Si è svolta presso la Crypto.com Arena di Los Angeles la cerimonia di consegna dei Grammy Awards 2024, edizione numero 66. La notizia è che Taylor Swift grazie a “Midnights” si aggiudica per la quarta volta (record assoluto nella storia dei Grammy) il riconoscimento principale, “Album Of The Year”, dopo quelli conquistati in passato per “Fearless”, “1989” e “Folklore“. “Midnights” porta a casa anche il premio come “Best Pop Vocal Album”, e il produttore Jack Antonoff (che negli ultimi mesi oltre che con la Swift ha lavorato anche sugli album di Lana Del Rey e The 1975) vince nella categoria “Best Producer Non Classic”. Con i due vinti in questa edizione, salgono complessivamente a 14 le statuette assegnate in carriera a Taylor Swift, la quale ha anche colto l’occasione per annunciare la pubblicazione del suo prossimo lavoro, che si intitolerà “The Tortured Poets Department” e vedrà la luce il 19 aprile.

Ma veniamo ai tanti altri protagonisti della serata. Sza, l’artista col maggior numero di nomination, nove, porta a casa tre Grammy, così come le Boygenius, la rivelazione Victoria Monet (“Best New Artist”) ed il rapper Killer Mike. La più premiata di tutti a fine serata risulterà però Phoebe Bridgers: oltre ai tre riconoscimenti ottenuti con le Boygenius, ne guadagna anche uno a nome proprio. Premiate come migliori canzoni “What Was I Made For” di Billie Eilish (“Best Song”), che pochi giorni fa si era aggiudicata il Golden Globe, e “Flowers” di Miley Cyrus (“Best Recording”). Miglior album r&b è “Jaguar II” di Victoria Monet, miglior album Progressive r&b “SOS” di Sza; standing ovation per Joni Mitchell che ritira il premio vinto nella categoria “Best Folk Album”, mentre la giovanissima Tyla, che pubblicherà l’album d’esordio fra pochi giorni, con la canzone “Water” è la prima vincitrice nella categoria “Best African Music Performance”, inaugurata proprio quest’anno.

Nelle categorie rock oriented si registrano le affermazioni delle Boygenius (“Best Alternative Music Album”, “Best Rock Song” e “Best Rock Performance”), Paramore (“Best Rock Album” e “Best Alternative Music Performance”) e Metallica (“Best Metal Performance”). Premi anche per Davide Bowie (“Best Music Film” grazie a “Moonage Daydream”), Beatles (“Best Video” per “I’m Only Sleeping”) e Dry Cleaning (“Best Recording Package” per “Stumpwork“). Samara Joy, miglior artista esordiente della passata edizione, torna a vincere nella categoria “Best Jazz Performance”; meritatissime le affermazioni di Meshell Ndegeocello (“Best Alternative Jazz Album”) e Natalia Lafourcade (“Best Latin Rock or Alternative Album”). Fred Again, Skrillex, Kylie Minogue e Wet Leg (grazie al remix di “Wagging Tongue” dei Depeche Mode) dominano nelle categorie riservate alla musica elettronica, Chris Stapleton si aggiudica invece due premi nelle categorie legate alla musica country. Dopo il Golden Globe, bissa il successo anche ai Grammy il compositore svedese Ludwig Göransson grazie al lavoro svolto per la colonna sonora del film “Oppenheimer”. Restano a mani vuote sia Olivia Rodrigo (aveva sei nomination) che Lana Del Rey (ne aveva cinque)
