Pink Floyd: annunciata l’edizione speciale “Wish You Were Here 50” per il cinquantenario. Ascolta la demo inedita di “Welcome To The Machine”

I Pink Floyd hanno annunciato "Wish You Were Here 50", un’edizione speciale per il 50° anniversario del fondamentale album in studio della band "Wish You Were Here", in uscita il 12 dicembre per Sony Music. Già attivo il preorder.
Per celebrare l'uscita e l'importante ricorrenza, oggi è stata pubblicata una primissima registrazione demo inedita di "Welcome To The Machine", originariamente intitolata "The Machine Song". Con il titolo "The Machine Song (Demo #2, Revisited)", si tratta di una versione più breve dell’epico originale. È possibile ascoltarla qui sotto.



Altri inediti in studio presenti in "Wish You Were Here 50" includono "The Machine Song (Roger’s demo)", il primo home demo del brano portato originariamente da Roger Waters al gruppo. Ci sarà anche un inedito mix strumentale di "Wish You Were Here" che mette in risalto la pedal steel guitar di David Gilmour e, per la prima volta, una versione completa di "Shine On You Crazy Diamond (Pts. 1-9)" che riunisce le due metà del brano, rimixata in stereo da James Guthrie.
"Wish You Were Here 50" uscirà in vari formati, tra cui un cofanetto 3-Lp, un doppio cd, Blu-ray, digitale e un Deluxe Box Set. La versione digitale include l’album originale del 1975, ora con un nuovo mix Dolby Atmos curato dallo storico collaboratore dei Pink Floyd James Guthrie. Contiene inoltre 25 bonus track, tra cui nove rarità in studio e 16 brani dal vivo registrati dal celebre bootlegger Mike Millard al concerto della band al Los Angeles Sports Arena del 26 aprile 1975, restaurati e rimasterizzati da Steven Wilson e pubblicati ufficialmente per la prima volta. L’edizione Blu-ray include tre filmati proiettati negli show del tour del 1975 dei Pink Floyd, oltre a un cortometraggio di Storm Thorgerson. Le edizioni 3Lp e 2cd contengono l’album originale e le nove tracce bonus in studio.
Il Deluxe Box Set comprende tutto il materiale delle versioni doppio cd e triplo Lp (quest’ultimo in esclusivo vinile trasparente), i contenuti del Blu-ray, più un quarto Lp in vinile trasparente, "Live At Wembley 1974", una replica del 7 pollici giapponese di "Have A Cigar" b/w "Welcome To The Machine", un libro fotografico con immagini inedite, un fumetto-programma del tour e un poster del concerto di Knebworth.
