Classici lunghi quarant’anni. Lo scorso mese Ultimate Classic Rock aveva pubblicato la classifica delle migliori canzoni del 1985, selezionate dalla sua redazione. Ora, il magazine online specializzato in rock e dintorni ha compilato un’altra classifica relativa al 1985, quella degli album. Quaranta album per quaranta anni trascorsi da allora. “Il 1985 – scrive UCR nell’introduzione – si trovava a metà strada tra movimenti, stili e tendenze… un punto centrale focalizzato sul cambiamento, ma incerto sulla direzione da prendere negli anni successivi”. Non irrilevante il ruolo di Mtv, che “aveva cambiato il modo in cui le persone consumavano la musica e influenzava ciò che si ascoltava”. E così vi fu un profondo rinnovamento: “Artisti che prima erano ai margini delle classifiche mainstream ora vendevano milioni di dischi; metal, punk ed elettronica si ritrovavano improvvisamente fianco a fianco con le tradizionali star del pop in classifica”.
